How to use PreMarriage Website
The PreMarriage website is a dedicated platform designed for churches to mentor and prepare couples for married life. Through the platform, couples are guided to explore various marriage topics and respond to corresponding questions, fostering open discussions with their mentors. This process provides couples with a valuable opportunity to strengthen their bond and equip themselves for the journey ahead.
By engaging in these discussions and assessments, couples can deepen their understanding of each otherโs values, expectations, and aspirations, laying a solid foundation for a successful marriage.
Moreover, these conversations and assessments offer a platform to address potential conflicts or concerns early on, promoting the development of effective communication skills.
Therefore, this premarital preparation is not just a requirement, but an essential step towards forging a strong and lasting bond between two individuals embarking on a lifelong journey as partners in marriage. It is advisable for churches to require couples to complete all quizzes and issue a certificate of completion before the wedding day.
Creating Church Account
- To create an account for your church as a pastor or church administrator, start by navigating to the Signup page. Select the option โIโm a Pastor / Church Administratorโ and click โContinueโ This will direct you to a form that must be completed to finalize your registration.
- Once your account is set up, you will have the ability to log in and access your dashboard. From there, you can begin by adding a counselor (see “Adding Counselors” for details), followed by adding your first couple (refer to the “Adding Couples by Administrator” section).
- The registration of your first couple is free of charge. However, to register additional couples, you will need to submit a payment of $70 per couple through the billing page (see the “Billing/Pricing” section for more information).
Couple Registration Options
There are two available methods for registering couples:
Method 1: Couple Self-Registration – Church administrators will need to direct couples to the PreMarriage website’s self-registration page. During this process, couples will select their church (which should already have an active account) and complete the required information fields. This option removes the need for administrators to manually collect couples’ details, as the couples will provide them directly. After completing the $70 payment, a coupleโs profile will appear in the church administrator’s account, allowing them to assign a counselor by selecting the “Edit” button.
Method 2: Church-Paid Registration – Church administrators can register couples directly by logging into their account, clicking the “Add a Couple” button, and entering the necessary details (see the “Adding Couples by Administrator” section for more details). The first couple can be registered for free. However, additional couples will require a $70 payment per couple, which can be processed through the billing page (see the “Billing/Pricing” section). When the church covers the fee, couples can access the platform at no cost to them.
Adding Counselors/Mentors
The website setup is configured to have at least one counselor/mentor in the account. In larger churches, there are usually multiple counselors available, while in smaller congregations, the pastor often takes on the role of counselor/mentor for couples.
- To add counselors, navigate to the โCounselorโ tab.
- If you’re both a pastor/counselor and an administrator for a church account, you can easily gain access to review couples’ work and administrative functions by clicking the “Add Myself as a Counselor” button.
- However, if you’re solely an administrator, you’ll need to add at least one counselor to the system by clicking on “Add a Counselor” button.
- After clicking the โAdd a Counselorโ button, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to enter the counselor’s information. The required fields include first name, last name, and email address. You have the option to include additional details such as a phone number and a profile picture for the counselor. Note that the counselor’s phone number will be included in the email sent out to couples.
- Once you’ve filled out the necessary information, click โRegister and Send Emailโ. This action triggers the website to send an email to the counselor. The email contains a link allowing the counselor to create a login password and access their account. Additionally, you’ll see a card displaying the counselor’s information, along with “Edit” and “Delete” buttons for further management.
- To edit counselors’ information, including their password, simply click the “Edit” button associated with their profile. If you choose to leave the password field blank, it will retain the original password set up by the counselor. Alternatively, you can update the password if the counselor requests it. Additionally, counselors have the option to reset their own password by clicking on the โForgot Passwordโ link available on the login page or from their account page.
- Click the โDeleteโ button to delete a counselor permanently.
Adding Couples (by administrator)
- In the “Couples” tab, you’ll find an “Add a Couple” button for registering couples. Clicking this button opens a pop-up window where you must fill in the required fields to register the couple.
- In the “Select a Counselor” dropdown menu, you’ll see a list of counselors added to your account. Choose the counselor who will work with this couple. Then, complete all necessary fields. Adding an avatar picture is optional.
- After clicking “Register and Send Email,” the website sends out four emails:
- The groom and bride each receive separate emails containing a link to reset their passwords and log in to their accounts. Upon logging in, students will find detailed instructions on the tasks they need to complete.
- You, as the church admin, also receive these emails for confirmation and can follow up with the couple to ensure they received and started working on their courses.
- A counselor receives an email informing them of the new couple assigned by the church admin. Upon logging in, the counselor sees a new card with the couple’s information and instructions on how to review their work. The counselor can click on the couple’s card to begin the review process.
- To modify couples’ information, including their password, simply click on the “Edit” button. If you choose to leave the password field blank, it will retain the initial password set up by the user. Alternatively, you can update the password upon the couple’s request. (Users have the option to reset their own password by clicking on the โForgot Passwordโ link available on the login page or on their account page.)
- If couples have registered independently (refer to method 2 in the “Registration Options for Couples” section), you will notice a red note prompting you to select a counselor. To proceed, click on the “Edit” button and assign a counselor who will be assisting this couple.
- To remove a couple from the system, click on the “Delete” button. This action will permanently erase the couple’s information, including all their answers submitted on the courses.
- Once a couple completes all of their courses, their card will automatically be relocated to the archive folder. Their information is preserved and not deleted; it is simply organized in the archive for reference. Additionally, you can manually transfer their card to the archive folder by utilizing the “Move to Archive” button. Furthermore, couples can also be moved to the archive folder directly from the reports page. To access the archive folder and view the stored information, simply click on the “Archive Folder” button.
Account
- In the “Edit Profile” section, you can update your profile information.
- If you are a counselor/mentor, the signature section will appear, allowing you to add your signature. This signature will be displayed on the certificate received by couples upon completion of all courses.
- This section displays your avatar picture and profile details.
- Account deletion functionality and billing are exclusive to administrators. You can delete an account by selecting the “Delete Account” link. Please be aware that deleting the account will permanently remove all counselors, couples, and their associated work from the system. Neither couples nor counselors have the ability to delete their own accounts. Clicking the “Billing” button will redirect you to the billing page. For more information on billing, refer to the “Billing/Pricing” section.
Report
- The report page is exclusively accessible to administrators. Here, you’ll find your name and the name of your church at the top of the screen. Below, there’s a list of counselors, each followed by the couples they mentor.
- For each couple, there’s a “Move to Archive” button. Clicking this button relocates the couple to the archive folder. Couples are also automatically moved to the archive folder upon completion of all their quizzes.
- To view couples that have been archived, click on the “Archives” folder. From this page, you can move couples back by clicking the “Unarchive” button if needed.
Billing/Pricing
After creating your account, the initial registration for the first couple is free. To add additional couples, you will need to complete the form below indicating the number of couples you wish to register. Once you submit your payment, you can proceed to add more couples from the “Add Couples” page by clicking the “Add Couples” button.
Counselors Page
- When a counselor logs into their account, they’ll be directed to a counselor’s page. Initially, this page won’t display any couple cards. However, when the administrator adds a couple and assigns it to the counselor, the card will appear on the counselor’s page.
- The couple card will feature the couples’ first and last names, the number of courses they’ve completed, and a progress bar. Click on the โReviewโ button to assess the couple’s work.
- Once you click on the “Review” button, you’ll discover 12 cards representing different marriage topics. Each card indicates the progress bar reflecting the completion status.
- Initially, both the โReviewโ and โUnlockโ buttons are disabled. However, once both students finish and submit their answers for a particular quiz, the “Review” button will activate, allowing you to review their answers. Furthermore, after both students submit a quiz, they’ll be able to view each other’s answers.
- If a student accidentally clicks the submit button without completing their quiz, you can unlock it by clicking the โUnlockโ button, enabling the student to finish the quiz.
- When reviewing couples’ answers, you can choose to view them in one column or two columns (side-by-side).
- His answers will be highlighted in light blue, and hers in pink.
- Below each studentโs answer, thereโs a field for you to leave comments.
- You can save your comments and return later to complete them, but remember to click submit for the couples to see your comments.
- Reviewing couples’ answers and providing comments is not mandatory for counselors/mentors, but it is highly encouraged.
Couples Page
- When students log in to their account, they will find 12 marriage topics that they must complete.
- To begin the course, a student needs to click the “Start” button and proceed to answer all the questions. They can choose to save their progress and return later to complete the quiz.
- Once all answers are filled out, users must click the “Submit” button for the counselor and their partner to view the responses.
- The counselor can then review the answers and provide any necessary comments.
